Not everyone knows that the team that develops Chrome, available to users with 2 channels Specialties:
- Dev channel
- Beta channel
These 2 channels are designed to give possibility to the community to develop and test the browser before the official release. Subscribe to this channel does not mean anything in particular and has no kind of obligation or duty, just decide to do so.
To do this just go on the project portal Chrome
http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel
From here you will find 2 links, one specific for each channel. Clicking, start the download and installation of Chrome specific to the selected channel.
Dev channel:
Developer channel has the "privilege" to get updates almost every day, and unstable versions are under development, but it is curious to see the evolution of the browser.
Beta channel:
In the beta channel is issued only beta, so it not yet officially free of bugs.
Subscribe to this channel, and using the versions made available, you can also use the first pugins found online, but to do so, you must enable the use of Chrome add-ons by changing the link that is used to open the browser.
Going in the properties of the link, add the directive "- enable-extensions" to the opening command
eg
C: \ Users \ [windows_user] \ AppData \ Local \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \ chrome.exe - enable-extensions
In this way the browser is able to use plugins. Beware, however, not always all work properly, because since the browser still under development, things may not go as expected, especially with add-ons.
This is possible only sfruttanto dev or beta versions, the stable version, still does not allow the use of plugins.
Personally it is a couple of months I use the browser version "dev channel" is in office and at home and instability problems I never had.
At present the official release is 2.0.172.43, while the dev channel is 4.0.203.4, with regard to the beta we are 3.0.195.10. (source: http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.com/)
