Microsoft launches technology preview of Office Web Apps

The preview version includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint. It is addressed to selected users of Windows Live SkyDrive. In the autumn will be followed by a beta version for a wider audience.

Microsoft has released a technology preview of the online version of Office. The so-called Office Web Apps includes the Word word processor, spreadsheet Excel and the PowerPoint presentation software. The program notes, OneNote is not included.

The final version of Office Web apps will come with Office 2010 in the first half of 2010 on the market. The advertising on-line applications will be free for consumers. Companies can provide their employees with the Office Web Apps via a subscription service from Microsoft or your own SharePoint server.
